About Newberry College

In the scenic Midlands of South Carolina lies the City of Newberry — one of South Carolina's cultural and historic treasures. Newberry is a town rich in history and known for its rural beauty and small town charm, carefully and beautifully preserved.

While it may have the word new in its name, the small town of Newberry, SC is proud to be rooted deep in history. Often described as a small town with big city luxuries, its home to plenty of the expected mom-and-pop shops but also boast a state of the art medical facility, high-tech conference center, a world class performing arts center and an overall thriving economy.  

Newberry College has a rich tradition of providing personal attention, challenging academic programs, and a close-knit community that welcomes everyone. Newberry combines its strong liberal arts foundation with specialized professional degree programs to prepare students for successful futures.

In 2010 Newberry College officially adopted “Wolves” as the nickname for the College’s athletic teams. Newberry is a member of the NCAA Division II and sponsors 19 varsity and 17 intercollegiate sports that compete in the extremely competitive and highly respected South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
